For more than 90 years, Columbus Speech & Hearing Center has continued to offer exceptional service to clients across Ohio. By remaining focused on its mission to help all people improve communication and vocational independence, the Center raises awareness of speech and hearing challenges throughout the Columbus community and surrounding areas.
Hearing loss affects one out of every 10 people throughout central Ohio. At Columbus Speech & Hearing Center, we know that hearing loss makes it difficult for people to communicate in their daily lives, at home and at work. We also understand that addressing a patient’s unique listening needs is the key to helping them.
Most people with hearing loss can receive benefit with hearing aids, which are designed to amplify sounds in the areas where you have hearing loss, so that sounds are audible to you. The goal is to make soft sounds audible, to make average sounds comfortable and keep loud sounds within your comfort level.
Speech-language disorders can affect young children, adolescents, and adults. Our licensed and certified speech-language pathologists know that early diagnosis and treatment is key to eliminating or minimizing future challenges in school, social settings, and day-to-day routines.
We offer classes designed to provide an opportunity for individuals to improve their communication abilities with co-workers and friends who are Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing, and to educate those who may be losing their hearing, those incorporating signs in communicating with their hearing children and those who simply have an interest in learning American Sign Language.
CPD has been helping individuals with disabilities become independent and successful on the job since 1971. Our Employment Specialists have more than 100 years of combined experience in vocational rehabilitation.
My audiologist obviously loves her job. She is friendly, strives to make her clients very comfortable and relaxed, and above all, has terrific knowledge both of hearing and hearing aid products. She is a joy to work with for my hearing situation.
What can I say about my employment specialist? Certainly not enough. Without her I would not have this job that is very ideal for me… flexible, nice and genuine!
My audiologist was very courteous, professional, friendly and patient. She never seemed rushed and allowed plenty of time for questions. She displays a beautiful example of how clients appreciate being treated. May God bless you as you continue to be of help to others.
My speech clinician is very thoughtful and thorough with my son. She seems to inspire him every session while offering an ever-changing environment with which to learn. He runs from the car every session with excitement. Thank you so much!
