What types of jobs do you help people get?

We have placed people in many types of jobs depending on their unique skills, qualifications, experience, and preferences. Types of positions range from Stock Clerks, Warehouse Associates, Customer Service and clerical positions, to Teachers, Engineers, and Human Resource Professionals. The real answer to this question is “What type of job would you like to have? We can help!”

How soon can I expect to get a job?

The speed at which a person gets a job depends on a number of factors. These may include, but are not limited to, the type of job a person is looking for (i.e., industry, position, part-time vs. full-time, hours, benefits, etc.), current labor market conditions, or other personal factors.

How soon can I expect to be scheduled for an initial appointment?

Most people are contacted within 24 hours of receiving their referral. Our goal is to have intake appointments scheduled within 10 business days or less in order to begin services as soon as possible.

What types of people do you work with?

Our employment specialists work with a very diverse group of people. We work with people of all ages, races, education and experience levels, and people with many different disabilities – not only those related to speech or hearing.

Where will our appointments be and how often will we meet?

Although our office is located in Columbus, Ohio, we serve a total of 8 Central Ohio counties. Our employment specialists will meet with you in our office or at another, more convenient location upon your request. Where and how often you meet with your employment specialist depends largely on your personal preferences, but meetings are typically scheduled weekly.

What services do you offer?

We offer a wide range of employment services including services to help someone choose a job goal (Career Exploration and Vocational Testing), to help someone get ready to look for work (Job Seeking Skills Training and Community-Based Assessment), to help someone search for jobs including develop a resume and practice interviewing skills (Job Development), and to help someone remain successful on the job (Job Coaching and Retention).
